January 2017

Urchfont Potato Day and Seed Fair

Venue: The Village Hall, Urchfont, near Devizes

Urchfont annual Potato & Seed Fair organised by Urchfont Gardening Society. Over 50 varieties of seed potato, heritage seeds, fruit trees and bushes and lots more.

Devizes Festival of Winter Ales

Venue: Corn Exchange, Devizes

This very special & unique Festival of Winter Ales is a fundraising event for DOCA (Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts).

The 40th Annual Wilton House Antiques Fair

Venue: Wilton House, Wilton, Near Salisbury

Regarded as one of the highlights of the South-West Spring calendar, this independent, three-day event hosts over 45 exhibitors, offering a broad mix of fine, country and early C20th antiques, as well as decorative, period collectables.

April 2017

Easter Bunny Trail at Bowood

Venue: Bowood House

Visit Bowood House and Gardens this Easter to take part in an Easter Bunny Trail through the beautiful grounds.

Friday 14th April 2017 to Monday 17th April 2017, 11am to 5pm.



Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race

Venue: Starts at the Wharfside, Devizes. Viewing all along the Kennet & Avon Canal

The annual Canoe Race that spans 125 miles from Devizes to Westminster.

The Sarsen Trail, Neolithic Marathon and Cycle Ride

Venue: Starts at Avebury

A fun-filled, fabulous day out for the family – a multi-terrain running, walking and mountain biking event, taking you through the Vale of Pewsey, the Avon Valley and then across the beautiful ancient landscape of Salisbury Plain between Avebury and Stonehenge. There are races and distances for all the family (even the dog!). Choose from a Full or Half Marathon, a 7, 11, 15 or 26 mile walk (depending on how energetic you feel) or a 30 or 50 km circular rough terrain bike route. A fundraising event for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

Swindon Festival of Literature

Venue: Various locations in Swindon

Swindon Festival of Literature celebrates things well thought, well written, and well said!... In its attempt to lure you along, this year’s Festival includes novelists, poets, politicians, travellers, scientists, storytellers, sportsmen, historians, comedians, artists, and activists. Plus competitions, new events, and workshops.

Spring Craft Fair at Stourhead

Artists and craftspeople with a tempting selection of jewellery, pottery, paintings, wood turning and much more.

Devizes Food and Drink Festival

Venue: Market Place, Devizes

Devizes Food and Drink Festival is an annual, week long celebration of the best food, produce and drinks from the Wiltshire area.

Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival

Venue: Various locations in Salisbury

In 2017 the Festival’s theme will look westwards, taking inspiration from the sunset, and celebrating the arts and culture of the French-Canadian province of Québec. Six spectacular Highlight events boast an eclectic mix of UK based and international artists, with exciting new names taking their place alongside previous Festival favourites.

The internationally renowned Iford Arts Festival (opera, picnic proms and classical cloister concerts) takes place in the exquisite performing spaces of the Cloister and Casita in the Grade 1 Listed Peto garden of Iford Manor, 6 miles outside Bath. Opera is staged in the round and sung in English for a seated audience of 90. Popular and informal free flowing festival promenades in June and August along with seated cloister concerts complete the festival programme. Don’t forget to take your picnic and enjoy the stunning views over the Iford valley.

Chippenham Folk Festival

Venue: The Cause Art Centre, Causeway, Chippenham

A National Festival in the Heart of Wiltshire. Four days of the best in folk song, music, dance and traditions in the heart of Wiltshire. Chippenham’s biggest annual event – the folk festival, now in it’s 43rd year has an incredible 200+ events in just one bank holiday weekend.

Vintage Nostalgia Festival

Venue: Stockton Park, Stockton, Warminster

The Vintage Nostalgia festival is a hidden gem held in the heart of the Wylye Valley at Stockton Park, Stockton near Warminster, Wiltshire. The festival focuses on the past and offers visitors a unique experience, with live music, vintage trade stands, period exhibits from the turn of century through to the 1980s.

Summer Craft Fair at Stourhead

Venue: Stourhead

A summer fair with jewellery, pottery, paintings, wood carvings and much more from artists and crafts people.

Barbury Castle International Horse Trials & Show

Venue: Rockley, Marlborough

Barbury International features the world’s top Eventers competing over the renowned Mark Phillip’s designed cross country course set in a natural amphitheatre formed by the beautiful Marlborough Downs. Barbury tests the skills and courage of the finest horses and riders and offers the best views of a cross-country circuit - anywhere. Alongside the Horse Trails there is an extensive Shopping Village with over 70+ shops with an array of wonderful products, a real shopper’s paradise.

Marlborough Jazz Festival

Venue: Various locations in Marlborough

Marlborough International Jazz was founded in 1986 and it features on Tower Records list of the top events of its kind in the British Isles. As well as individual concerts, a major feature is the "Stroller". These are tickets that enable the holder to see a large number of bands in over 20 locations on Friday evening from 6pm and on Saturday from before 12 noon until after midnight.

WOMAD Festival

Venue: Charlton Park, Charlton, Malmesbury

An outdoor festival celebrating the world's many forms of music, arts and dance. WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance and that is, quite literally, what WOMAD is. WOMAD Charlton Park is one of the most unique festivals of the UK season providing audiences with a weekend of discovery.

The spectacular Great British Prom pays tribute to British music from across the four nations, closing with a spectacular firework display!

Edington Music Festival

Venue: Priory Church, Monastery Lane, Edington, Westbury

90 of the UK’s top choral singers and organists come to Edington to sing the most beautiful music ever written. Organ recitals, plainchant, new commissions and sacred music across the centuries combine to make the Edington Music Festival.

Great British Food Festival at Bowood

Wiltshire 100 Cycle Ride

Venue: Starts and ends in Devizes

A heroic 100 mile ride through Wiltshire raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
